This 32-page, primary science book in the iScience Readers series presents a number of basic properties of water including changing states, surface tension, and the water cycle. It presents a series of questions that are typical of those asked by elementary students. Concepts are presented logically and in a developmentally appropriate way, making this book easy to understand. It's also easy to read, with a second- to third-grade reading vocabulary.
The book's format book encourages inquiry. It includes an iScience Puzzle with an explanation of how to solve the puzzle, a discover activity, a section called "science at work," connections to history, a glossary, sources for further reading, and additional notes. The illustrations include clear photographs and a chart explaining the water cycle.
This is a high-quality, durable book with a library binding—perfect for the classroom. I highly recommend it to teachers of students in grades K to 4. Upper-grade teachers with special education students as well as teachers using differentiated instruction will also find this book to be very useful.

This is a great series for beginning science introduction and study. Books are easy to manage both in size and amount of pages. Each book has a colorful cover wtih a round colorful picture of the subject. Inside it is packed with information with great photographs. Text is 2-3 paragraphs per page. There are additional features highlighting the topic and sub-topic headings. I like the science puzzle at the beginning - almost an ice breaker into the topic. The discovery activity is a great hands on example of the topic. Very nice series for the younger elementary.

Recommended. This is a science leveled reader in a series. Describes the different ways water affects humans, how it can change forms, and included an activity. Very good pictures, some puzzles you must solve after reading the book like why is the glass wet on the outside. A good Glossary. Good for upper grade science.
