This is a very easy to read retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The illustrations, though they are the originals from the 1960s, come across as vintage and retro rather than outdated. Beginning readers will love to be able to read this classic story for themselves. 4/5

It is a very nice, simple version with focus on a few simple things: red, yellow, blue and big and little. The story has a nice flow. It is a good book for a beginning reader.

This particular series takes off from Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The author makes the story more personal. This simple fairytale engulfs the reader right into the book. It is an eye-catcher for beginning readers! The sentences are short and to the point. The book introduces beginning site words. These words are used throughout the text. Near the end of the book there is a section on Reading Reinforcement. This book is fantastic! This story uses 45 words to help get the beginning reader to read independently. Teachers will find this book very beneficial in helping children to learn to read.
