I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I thought there were many wonderful lessons and great discussion facilitators. I believe kids will enjoy meeting this character...he is so different and yet he is not so different that they cannot identify with him in some way. Wisdom and leadership are needed by all, and I think that this story will help young children see that they too can demonstrate both. The resources in the back were an added bonus.

This book is much like a fable. I didn't think I would like it at first. But it is a great book to teach children about placing others' needs first.
