Since kids love dogs and sports this whole series is sure to be a winner. Line drawings are full of detail/energy. This title also conveys the point that pulling together as a team and doing what is right are both rewarding. Highly Recommend.

Grade Level K-3. Originally published in 1980, this football story about a boy and his dog has been reissued with an appealing, colorful cover. Larger type and lots of illustrations make this a good choice for reluctant readers.
